The Professor is currently the Medical Director of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre and Teaching Director of the Accredited Unit for the Training of Specialists in Ophthalmology on the Official House Officer (MIR) program. Dr Josep Taberno is the medical director of the Baselga Oncology Institute in Hospital Quironsalud, and head of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Unit in the same center. Dr. Joan C. Monllau Heads the Knee unit at Dexeus University Hospital. He Completed studies of medicine at University of Barcelona (UB) Medicine School, and then completed a specialised training in Sports Medicine at the Spanish Soccer Federation (MFE). Dr. Monllau completed his Orthopaedics and Traumatology residency at the Hospital Universitari “Josep Trueta”, then did Observership at Steadman&Hawkins Clinic, Vail (Colorado, USA) in 2006. Director of the Hematology Unit
Dr. Bosch directs the Hematology Unit of the Baselga Oncology Institute (IOB) together with Dr. Armando López-Guillermo. A specialist in lymphomas and chronic lymphatic leukemia, he has achieved, together with his team, innovations in new technologies for the analysis of hematological diseases and new treatments for these types of diseases. Dr. Bosch is responsible for protocols in working groups such as the Group for the Study of Catalano-Balearic Lymphomas (GELCAB), the Spanish Group of Lymphomas and Transplants of Bone Marrow (GELTAMO), the Program for the Study of Therapeutics in Malignant Homeopathy (PETHEMA). Dr Josep Brugada is an arrhythmia specialist at Instituto del Corazon Teknon and he is the director of the Pediatric Arrhythmia Unit at Sant Joan Deu Barcelona. In 1992, he and his brothers profiled a disease that causes sudden cardiac death. The disease now bears his name: Brugada syndrome.
